Inactive Characters

This activity check is overdue, due to Noel's work situation, but not I'm posting it now back-dated to March 15.

- Hazaan (character will be considered abandoned if no action is taken before April 15, 2017 (due to two-week extension))
- Nidara (character will be considered abandoned if no action is taken before March 31, 2017)
- Owlsight (character will be considered abandoned if no action is taken before March 31, 2017)
- Selecia (character will be considered abandoned if no action is taken before April 15, 2017 (due to two-week extension))
- Shenah (character will be considered abandoned if no action is taken before April 31, 2017 (due to two-week extension)))
- Vilar (character will be considered abandoned if no action is taken before March 31, 2017)

( Tusk qualified as inactive on March 15. Has on march 17, this is no longer the case.)

Jeedai wasn't jumping the gun - I personally asked him to take over the inactivity checks, since I have been having so much trouble keeping up. I saw a need to get help with the regular Admin duties during my transition to the new job, and he agreed.

However, you bring up a point that has been brought to my attention before: do we want to reevaluate our inactivity policy? I agree that with so few players, it becomes hard for people to keep up when one person is away from the game (for whatever reason). Considering that the majority of us on here lead busy lives in general, should we think about relaxing the policy? Keep in mind the policy only requires one post every two weeks. For comparison, Oakleaf Holt requires one post every week (twice as often).

Another comment I've received is that the term 'inactivity' seems too harsh, and should only be used when a character is abandoned (for reference, Dewsoft and Kirya's profiles are labeled 'Inactive', so the term is already being used for abandoned character accounts). What term better reflects a period when someone hasn't posted, then? Should we just call these notices 'activity warnings' instead?

1) I agree we should relax the quota. To begin with there are only 7 players and 3-4 of them have been hijacked and not posted consistently in several weeks. 3 of them have not posted at all for 2 or more weeks that I could see (leaving room to be corrected because I don't normally track these things).

Given that makes almost half of our players truly on 'warning' for not posting, their roughly 6 characters are no longer in play, meaning that there maybe an additional 6 (or more) characters waiting on them to post. Now, split that in half because of the Run currently being the major thread and you have even less options for threads that are not 'flashbacks' (and let's be honest, there are only so many of those you can do at this point because we haven't been active that long).

2) We could call these activity warnings just WARNING or maybe PROBATION or WATCH or something simple. We could create a PROBATION classification that new players/problem players would go under where they get more frequent/consistent checks.

3) While OLH does require more posting, they still look at the overall MONTH of activity (at least from what I've seen because there are definitely weeks I've not posted and not gotten a notice because I mega-posted another week). Plus they do an Inactivity notice monthly and then you have another month before you go ABANDONED. That's much more time than we currently have allotted for either Inactive or Abandoned lists. I believe a monthly check would likely be sufficient until we have more players and that at present, checks may be doing more harm than good (barring those players already on PROBATION who will need continued activity checks).
