- In order to make the time we spend dreaming more meaningful, we must first recognize that we are dreaming. That is the initial exercise. The next step is called transforming the dream; the third is known as multiplying. The fourth practice is to unify the dream with the clear light. Recognizing, transforming, multiplying and unifying the dream with the luminosity of the true nature; these four outline the essential applications of dream yoga

History:
Once she was a vapid maiden, attention whore and all around diva. She had to have EVERYONE love her or she wasn't happy. She had 2 female mates and one male lovemate they all fought over. The male was a Wolfblooded wanderer who stayed with the Sun Folk for a bit. The three girls convinced him to have a kid with them. Vashti insisted on carrying it.
The male eventually left to wander again and admitted he could never love her how she wanted. Once the baby was born, they named her Ajarati - (beloved of the sun). Vashti adored the baby but was horrible at tending her. She just couldn’t be bothered with tending the child when she was crying or dirty. She let Reysha and Maara tend her more. It wasn’t until her daughter grew older and more independant that she realized she’d not bonded as closely to her as she liked. With the help of her mates, she slowly wokred to form a bond with Aja but it was always something closer to sisters than mother/daughter. Aja wa wolfblooded so it was no surprise when she decided to put aside her lovely veils and begin wearing leathers and daggers - or when she decide to officially join Dart’s jackwolfriders to train. Years passed, Go Backs attacked, Reysha, one of the trio of mates was killed and their daughter - now with a JWR name, Vixen, was badly injured.
She was placed in wrapstuff and Vashti was devastated she couldn't do anything to help. She was also not able to help Maara - the strong mate - who was even more broken over losing Reysha and their daughter. She stayed with the cocoons, watching over her daughter, trying to confirm the girl still lived. One night she heard a mental cry of anguish. Vixen's phobia and nightmare replaying itself over and over - Vashti could hear her pain and was tempted to open the cocoon to stop her suffering - knowing this would kill her. Known for her hysterics, Vashti tried to tell someone what she'd heard but they didn't believe her. Maara turned on her and was angered believing she was just trying to use it as a cry for attention. The two had a massive falling out and Vashti left with the other SF/JWRs when they did because she couldn't stand being in the sun village any longer and knew if she stayed near the cocoon she'd end up opening it and killing her daughter.
Life was hard for the pampered ‘princess’ on the road and she soon learned her pretty looks and simpering ways would not be tolerated. He had to pull her own weight. Grudgingly, she began to do so. In time, she surprised even herself as she adapted to her new lifestyle and found that she was capable of far more than she had expected.
Still a bit of a diva, Vashti would regal any of the younger generations willing to listen about tales of the Sun Village and the many traditions and innovations their people had come up with. SHe had many young followers who were eager to know of their heritage, one of which being the young herder, Hazaan. He was a lad who hung on every word, fascinated with their people’s past - but his constant questions began to annoy Vashti and she began to avoid the boy. Plus he would often shirk his duties to follow her around picking her brain - an issue that the Chief wold often chide her over.
It was always best to answer a question or two quickly and then send him on his way.
By this time, the tribe had settled at the edge of the World Spine mountains, founding a new village that was both stronghold and new hope - they named it Stonehold and began to carve out their own version of the Sun Village from the bones of that mountain. Little did they know how brittle those bones were. One day, while most of the hunters were on a hunt, an earthquake struck the mountain and Stonehold grumbled down around the unsuspecting denizens. Trapped within the mountain, those who had not died in the collapse were left with the frightening realization they would suffocate from lack of oxygen - or starve from lack of food very quickly. Fortunately there were preservers with them. The preservers wrapped everyone they could get to, placing them into suspended sleep while the hunters tried to find a means to free them.
Digging did no good - in fact, because the cave-in was so extensive, the more they tried to move the rubble, the worse it got for those stuck within. Several more elves’ were lost over the next few months of attempts. Frustrated by their inability to resolve the issue, those remaining Windrunners vowed to find a new safe haven and to await the time that another stoneshaper was born who could stabilize the wreckage and free their people.
It would take hundreds of years and though they were never completely forgotten, Vashti and the others who waited for rescue slowly faded from the forefront of their peoples’ minds. THere was nothing they could do but hold on and wait. It was the way of it, and the tribe was resigned to it...all save for one determined young hunter who went to check on the tribe every once in a while...Sending and listening for the distant pings of his trapped tribemates’ sendings. It was during this time that Hazaan and Vashti got to know one another better, through send and through meeting on the astral plane.
When Sikeen’s powers manifested, hope was renewed and they eagerly awaited the young man’s mastery of his gifts. When at last he was able to open a pathway to the first set of chambers, the newly rescued and healed elves were greeted with a tribe that was much changed from their memories. Stronger, heartier, and definitely more wolfrider than sun villager now, it took some adjusting for them all. Especially Vashti who found that she was the oldest living member left in the tribe and that the ‘young lad’ that had once annoyed her to no end was now an elder in his own right. And quite the dashing one.
The two became lovemates and a constant dance began of Hazaan pursuing Vashti to become bonded, and Vashti refusing. She didn’t want to fall into the same traps she had before of being a wanton of self indulgence. The time in wrapstuff had made her take a good serious look at herself and realize she had much to be grateful for and had yet to truly repay the debt she owed her people for putting up with and protecting her for so long.
With newfound resolve, she dedicated her time and energy to exploring her gifts and utilizing Savah’s teachings, she began to focus her energies on helping those who had painful memories or traumas they needed to work through.
Settling into her duties as one of the Council of Five along with Sikeen, Ashra, Beilana and Hazaan, Vashti tried to help guide the chief as he governed their people. But tragedy struck again. A devastating fire claimed many of the Windrunners and badly wounded Chief Longtooth; not even 100 years later, a flood nearly wiped out the horses. Because the horses were the tribes’ livelihood and only Hazaan was still alive and old enough to remember when they first tamed the no-humps and bred them from the wild horses into the ponies that the tribe now uses, he volunteered to undertake the task once more, living alone, out on the plains, and guiding the wild horses. It was a duty only he could do with his magic, his knowledge and his temperament - but it meant parting the lovemates.
Upon his leaving, Vashti realized just how much she’d come to love Hazaan but she was still not ready to admit she wanted more of him than they currently shared. But Hazaan knew her well - far better than she knew herself, and one Festival of Flood and Flower, he left her a ‘bond gift’ to remember him by before returning to his solitary duties out on the plains.
A little under two years later, their son, Ahket was born though Hazaan was unable to attend the birth. His student, and the current herdmaster of the ponies, Kyron watched over mother and son diligently. He had been tasked with it by his mentor before Hazaan had left once more. Over the next 12 years, Hazaan made infrequent trips to visit when he was able, and Kyron stood as protector and father to young Ahket. He also grew closer to Vashti, the two sharing a bond forged initially from their love of Hazaan until it blossomed into something else between them.
Hazaan revealed to Vashti in a more recent visit that he had hoped the two would bond closer - that he hoped the two people he loved most (aside from his son) could come to love one another as well. He was overjoyed by the development, easing much of Kyron and Vashti’s fears though it still leaves the question of what Kyron will do about his other lovemate Selecia of which he is currently estranged from.
His long task finally done, Hazaan has returned to the tribe triumphantly escorting a newly bred group of ponies. There is much the family needs to catch up on - and more yet that needs to be done as tensions are brewing in the Canyon between Elder Sikeen and the wolfblooded members of the tribe.
