Description of powers: Fire-shaping is an extremely rare magic that allows the user to ignite an object through localized combustion, though the strength it requires to do so depends on how flammable the object is. Once a flame has started, the user can control the size of the fire, though not the temperature. Fire-shapers also have a natural resistance to flame, able to carry or endure contact for short periods of time. Fire-shapers also have bodies that naturally run a bit warmer than most. (description based on information from Elfquest Wiki: click here)
Note: Due to the distance in generations from the High Ones, those who can fire-shape no longer have the power to turn their own bodies into beings of flame (see: Zarhan Fastfire).

When the Windrunners moved to their new home in Sunspear Canyon, many forgotten magics began to emerge in the tribe - including fire-shaping. Ashra's father, Yehmin, was the first to rediscover fire-shaping after thousands of years, and the magic passed on to his son. When Yehmin was killed in a hunting accident, Ashra took over as the Firekeeper. Many years later his mother, Tishala, mated with a JWR named Briarsnake and bore a second son, Azir, who later took the name Tusk, and became Chief of the Windrunners. Ashra now serves on the Council of Five as an Elder to the tribe.
When Ashra was younger, he had a lovemate named Nesha, who was killed in a brush fire that broke out ahead of season in the Grass Sea. Despite his efforts, Ashra was unable to save her, and struggles at times with the knowledge that he has magic more suited towards destruction than salvation.
